What are this project's goals and how will you achieve them?
The Earth is burning. Wildfire 'season' is now year-round. From the massive Canadian wildfires, whose smoke has polluted the air across North America, to the culmination of rare atmospheric events leading to the tragedy in Maui, wildfire disasters are a growing climate catastrophe.
Unfortunately, early wildfire detection depends on witnesses reporting the event to first responders and can thus go undetected for hours. Detection technologies, such as cameras, drones, and aircraft, require expensive infrastructure, do not provide location-based service, and do not scale.
Furthermore, the wildland-urban interface (WUI) is where human development intermingles with wildfire-prone areas. Over ninety-nine million people nationwide live in the WUI. Forty-six million homes in 70,000 communities with an estimated value of 1.3 trillion dollars reside in the WUI as of 2022. The need for early wildfire detection solutions has never been greater!
ClimateFire AI's deep learning algorithms scan for wildfires in satellite data from the United States and parts of Canada. Wildfire location and spread are updated every 5 minutes via Google Maps for maximum situational awareness. Customers register their addresses for personalized monitoring and receive push notifications through our app. Text, voice, landline, and email alerts are also available. Additionally, customers can register their mobile devices to have location-based wildfire vigilance wherever they go.

How will this funding be used?
For development, AI model training, targeted marketing, geospatial dashboarding, climate market data, and to architect an elastic, cloud-based, MLOps solution.

Who is on your team and what's your track record on similar projects?
Founder & Lead Team Member: Nigel Parsad has extensive experience in AI, satellite imaging, and scalable cloud and edge MLOps solutions. For the last seven years, he has worked developing AI algorithms and scalable cloud and edge MLOps solutions. He has led AI initiatives across various industries ranging from Fortune 100 companies to series A startups.
Chief Environmental Officer: Douglas Ganey is the President of Ganey Science, an environmental and disaster recovery consulting firm. Doug has a strong interdisciplinary scientific background, with further expertise in disaster risk mitigation and emergency services management, government administration, and public policy.
Chief Creative Officer: Kate Hillis the owner of Leroy and Clarkson and has extensive professional expertise in sales, branding, and marketing for major media outlets plus large and small businesses. Leroy & Clarkson is a certified woman-owned business.
What are the most likely causes and outcomes if this project fails? (premortem)
Lack of funds to hire the appropriate data engineers build out a scalable cloud backend.
Lack of fund to hire the appropriate front-end app developer to build professional UX interface and wildfire dashboards.
The inability to B2G and B2C market traction for our early wildfire detection app/dashboard project.
